Thin Film engineering

The vision of this IRP is to perfect surface and interface engineering in the development of high performance coatings. Various materials are investigated for their potential in nanotechnology, microelectronics, energy manufacturing chain applications, etc.

The main goal is to provide new physical, chemical, and biological properties capable of surpassing standard materials in advanced applications.

Through the modification of surface properties or through the building of complex thin film, we create multimaterial structures such as nano-composites, 3D structures, stacks of different layers, multilayers, etc.

This program is based on a longstanding experimental and theoretical expertise in materials synthesis by various methods including wet chemistry and vapour phase processes such as ALD or CVD.
