> CEMAM

CEMAM was established in 2011 and its first funding has greatly increased interactions between the three MSE laboratories and created new ones with the additional teams coming from complementary scientific disciplines.

To accomplish its mission, the organization at CEMAM is based on a highly synergetic structure, a matrix with Interdisciplinary Research Programs (IRPs) crossing Core Competences (CCs). Each IRP reflects a specific engineering challenge that requires the combined expertise of several interdisciplinary teams and involves a strong collaboration with industry and other prestigious academic partners. Shared Facilities (SFs) support CCS and serve as an important resource to the broader Uni. Grenoble Alpes materials community and beyond.
The vision of CEMAM for the present funding period is to foster the design principles for the next generation of multifunctional architectured materials that will ensure high-value performance and long-term sustainability at lower cost and minimum footprint in nature. We  keep the matrix organizational structure with new five RPs that foster strong coupling with other labex to increase international recognition in key socio-economic challenges of the IDEX like “sustainable planet and society” and ” health, well-being and technology”.
